Reverse Osmosis System of a Water Utility Company in Feicheng
Jul 31, 2026

A petrochemical company experienced reverse osmosis (RO) system failures caused by fluctuations in raw water quality. Unstable feedwater frequently led to sharp increases in operating pressure and excessive interstage differential pressure, resulting in a continual decline in salt rejection and a surge in permeate conductivity, seriously threatening production continuity.

PRIO provided operation and maintenance support. Its engineering team monitored key parameters in real time and dynamically adjusted operating strategies. Based on the type of fouling, targeted cleaning methods were applied, with precise control of cleaning-solution pH, extended cleaning time, and soaking procedures to ensure effective cleaning and restore membrane flux.

Following systematic operational optimization, RO permeate production recovered to 98% of its initial commissioning level, operating differential pressure was controlled below 0.2 MPa, and the cleaning interval was extended. These improvements effectively ensured stable, continuous production.
